ENPA 1961 - 2011: 50 YEARS YOUNG!

ENPA publishes its Annual Review 2011 including special report on 50th Anniversary Congress with European Commission President José Manuel Barroso

Please find enclosed ENPA’s Annual Review 2011, which includes a special report on our 50th Anniversary Congress with the President of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso, Vice President Viviane Reding and Internal Market Commissioner Michel Barnier. The Review also contains an introduction by ENPA President Ivar Rusdal and an overview of progress made on some key lobbying issues in the last year.

The engagement of our members has been crucial to the successes of the last year. We continue to count on their expertise and input with our busy work programme for 2012.

The publication can also be downloaded from the publications section of ENPA website.

Warmest Regards,
Francine Cunningham and the ENPA team

THE EUROPEAN NEWSPAPER PUBLISHERS' ASSOCIATION

The European Newspaper Publishers' Association (ENPA) is an international non-profit association, advocating the interests of the European newspaper publishing industry at different European and international organisations and institutions.

ENPA represents over 5,200 national, regional and local newspaper titles, published in 26 European countries. More than 150 million newspapers are sold and read by over 300 million Europeans every day, in addition to the millions of unique daily visits to online newspapers websites. Publishing industries as a whole constitute an important economic sector in the EU employing more than 750,000 people in 64,000 companies.

Despite seismic changes in the media landscape, newspapers continue to be an integral part of our daily lives. They educate and influence; they entertain and delight; they provoke and inspire debate. They help us make informed decisions on how we should be governed and provide us with the fundamental information to shape the future of our society and our lives.
