New ENPA Executive Director: Mrs Francine Cunningham

On behalf of the President of ENPA Mr Valdo Lehari jr. and the Executive Committee, we are very pleased to announce that Francine Cunningham has been appointed new Executive Director.
Francine Cunningham will start working at ENPA on 30 August, 2010 taking over from Valtteri Niiranen who will move on to pursue his career with another employer (name and place will be announced in due course).
Among other things, she has previously worked as:
- Journalist for over ten years for both Irish and British newspapers including three years as European
correspondent for The Scotsman in Brussels;
- EU Government Affairs and Communications Manager in the Brussels office of IFPI (International
Federation of Phonographic Industry); and
- EU Government Affairs Director for EuroCommerce (organisation representing retail sector at European
level) in Brussels.
She has BA (Honors) in English and Philosophy from Queen’s University (Belfast), Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism (with credit) from Dublin University and one year of academic studies at Harvard University as EU Fulbright Scholar.
Niiranen and Cunningham will work together at least two weeks at the beginning of July 2010 at the ENPA Secretariat in order to guarantee a smooth handover of the responsibilities.
